My wife and I moved from Toronto to Golden Lake to embrace a quieter, country lifestyle surrounded by nature. We wanted more trees than cars, and we are thrilled with our decision. The Ottawa Valley has always felt like home to me — my family owns a farm near Killaloe where I spent my summers growing up, and later many weekends escaping the city. It’s even where my wife and I were married on a hot summer day. One evening, watching the sun set over a lake, we realized the Valley was where we wanted to put down roots.

I bring over 25 years of experience in design, renovations and property management to Golden Ridge Renovations. I began working in construction at a young age alongside my father, who owned his own company. From there, I apprenticed for three years at Angela James Furniture on the West Coast, where I built custom cabinetry and reproduction antique furniture, learning both traditional and modern carpentry techniques.

After returning to Toronto for design school, I worked with a construction company renovating homes, gaining the experience and ambition to start my own renovation business. Over the next two decades, I renovated condominiums and houses and worked in the Toronto film industry designing and building sets — a fast-paced environment that sharpened my attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and craftsmanship.

After moving to Golden Lake, I spent five years as a property manager at a family resort, overseeing a high-volume operation with hundreds of guests each week. This role involved managing a maintenance team, coordinating cleaning and landscaping, performing seasonal openings and closings, dock and water system maintenance, emergency repairs, and overseeing renovation and new building projects during the off-season.

Golden Ridge Renovations is the natural next chapter of my career. I am passionate about quality construction and thoughtful design, and I value craftsmanship, honesty, and reliability above all else. I take pride in delivering professional renovation services that are built to last.
